Scout Platform
We are excited to partner with Out on a Limb Manufacturing to offer
The SCOUT Platform
Weight - 15oz
The Scout platform that can replace a step in the sticks. The “scout “ just adds minimal weight to allow the conversion of any climbing stick with 1" tubing to a one stick. The scout was designed for that serious long haul minimalist hunter that wants to get to the woods and in a tree carrying as little extra weight as possible. Simply remove the existing step and install the Scout to provide a platform to hunt from.
Add a cam cleat and aider and you have yourself a one stick that allows you to leave all your other sticks and platforms at home.
Note: Mounting hardware is not included. Most sticks allow for the use of exsting hardware to mount the scout. All Scout platforms are made for installation on 1" tube sticks (Muddy, Loneworf, Beast, etc.)
Benefits of the One-Stick Climbing Method
The one-stick climbing method for saddle hunting has major advantages over the multiple stick and platform combo that most saddle hunters are accustomed to. From the lack of weight to less gear clutter and noise, One-sticking is a great climbing method for both saddle hunters and mobile hunters to stay efficient, mobile, and light.
Weight Savings: One of the biggest reasons most hunters switch to the one stick climbing method is because of the weight savings. Depending on where and how you hunt, saving those extra pounds/ounces can be important.
Less Noise: Less gear means less chance for unwanted noise. Stealth strip and pair it with a 3 step climbing stick aider and there won't be a tree you can't conquer.
Climb Higher: While not always necessary, the one stick climbing method will let you climb higher to saddle hunt. The only limit is the amount of tree you have to climb or the amount of rappel rope you brought with you.
Climb and Pack up Faster: One sticking offers the ability to climb quickly without the need to organize multiple sticks, no setting up an separate platform and no switching over to your tether at height (you climb with your tether). Packing up is a simple as packing the one stick and coiling up your rappel rope.
